Samuel Everett Glenn

Samuel Everett Glenn, 92, most recently of Elberton, GA died peacefully on January 24, 2024 at his daughter's home in Orlando, FL.

Born in Carlton, GA, Sam was the son of the late James A. Glenn, Sr. and Frances Griffin Glenn.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Reba Bell Glenn; son, Samuel Jeffrey Glenn; and his brother, James A. Glenn, Jr.

Sam graduated from Comer HIgh School in 1948 and attended The University of Georgia before enlisting in the Army and serving in Korea.  He worked at The University of Georgia for 24 years before retiring in 1994.

A former member of Clouds Creek Baptist Church, he was presently a member of Antioch Baptist Church.  Sam enjoyed camping, dancing and playing the slots in Cherokee.  When not playing cards or out looking for the next deal on a vehicle or camper, Sam could be found watching his beloved Braves play baseball.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Catherine Hendrix Moore Glenn, daughter, Jennifer Glenn Ishee (Steven Wise) and sister Frankie Beckham (John) of Monroe.

After his marriage to Catherine, Sam inherited her family: sons, Randall Moore (Ann), the late Barry Moore; grandchildren: Robbie Moore, Chad Moore, Abby Moore, Wesley Moore, great-grandsons: Tanner Moore and Colsen Moore, all of whom are extremely grateful for the love and care he extended to Cootie.

Memorial services will be planned for a later date, and burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens in Athens, GA.

Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
