Sara Ella Pitts

Mrs. Sara Ellis Pitts, age 77 of Lexington passed away Thursday, July 09, 2009 following an extended illness. Mrs. Pitts was a bus driver with the Oglethorpe County School System for 18 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, O’Neil Pitts, granddaughter Michelle Williams and brothers Bobby and Earnest Black. Survivors include her daughters and sons in law; Linda and Howard Williams, Debbie and Lamar Carter and Janice Underwood. 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and brother James Lee Black. A number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Graveside services for Mrs. Pitts will be held Saturday at 11am at Clark Cemetery in Lexington with Reverend Chuck Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday night from 6-8pm. Hicks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Sara Ella Pitts.
