Sarah Elizabeth Simmons Terrell

Ms. Sarah Elizabeth Simmons Terrell, of Fork Creek Road, Bowman, went to be with Jesus on her 90th birthday, Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

She was born in Flowery Branch on June 3, 1936, daughter of the late Sylvia Clarence Simmons and Lois Carl Jones Simmons. Sarah is also preceded in death by her beloved daughters: Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Terrell and Elaine Frances Terrell Drake and her husband James Randall “Boone” Drake; and siblings: Gaynell Parker, Robert Paul Simmons, Juanita Brannon, Junior Simmons, Johnny Simmons, Ralph Simmons, and Leroy Simmons.

A hardworking woman, Sarah was a self-employed farmer who specialized in trading and selling farm animals. She loved horses and had a heart for all animals. In her free time, she enjoyed putting together puzzles and playing on her iPad. Sarah was a devoted member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and loved her church family dearly.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Tracy Wright; great-grandchildren: Breonna Wright and Jaeyden Wright; and siblings: Gladys and Randy Jiles, Pauline and Merle Bryson, and Dorothy and Bryan Ledford.

Memorial services celebrating Sarah’s life will be conducted on Friday, June 5, at 2:00p.m. in the sanctuary of her beloved Deep Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Brendon Crowe and the Rev. Tim Adams officiating. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:30p.m.
