Shelba Jean Halstead Merritt

Mrs. Shelba Jean Halstead Merritt, 88, of Fork Creek Road, Bowman, wife of the late John Merritt, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at her residence. 

Mrs. Merritt was born on October 2, 1936, daughter of the late Grady Newell "Buster" Halstead and Ethel Draffin. 

Surviving are her sons: Bobby Gene Peacock and his wife Tina of Bowman, Grady 'Lynn' Peacock and his wife Cathy of Hoschton, and Clarence 'Jay' Peacock and his wife Crystal of Covington; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Ethel Nan Peacock; and several siblings. 

Services will be held at a later date.
