Tracy Gayle McCannon Johnson

Ms. Tracy Gayle McCannon Johnson, age 55, of Elberton, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

A native of Elberton, Tracy was born on September 6, 1970, daughter of Judy Oakley McCannon and the late Earl Thomas McCannon. She was a 1988 graduate of Elbert County High School. Tracy was a Certified Pharmacy Technician having worked at CVS, Madden’s Pharmacy, Ingles, and Walgreens. She loved her work and took pride in giving her customers the best care possible. When she was able, Tracy enjoyed worshipping with her church family at Bethel E Baptist Church.

She loved cooking and going grocery shopping. A quick trip to the grocery store with Tracy was always an adventure - she left no aisle untouched, looking for the next best deal and smiling and talking to everyone while doing it. Most recently, she enjoyed being "Miss Tignall" on WSGC 105.3 FM's swap and shop show each morning. Tracy enjoyed talking on the radio and making people laugh. She loved her family dearly, and always put others first. No matter what health issues she was facing or how bad she felt, she never let it get her down. Tracy fought hard and for a long time, and always kept a smile on her face while doing so.

In addition to her mother, Judy of Elberton, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Stephen Bell of Elberton; brother, Gary McCannon of Elberton; and aunts and uncle, Anita and Donnie Hudson, Betty Jo Butler, and Virginia Oakley, all of Elberton. She also leaves behind Lucky, her four-legged grand baby.

The family is at the residence of Stephen and Nicole Bell, 1168 Willie Black Road, Elberton, and will receive friends on Wednesday, July 22, from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.

Funeral services celebrating Tracy’s life will be conducted on Thursday, July 23, at 4:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, officiated by the Revs. Andrew Danals, J.T. Albea, and Brayden Couch.

Interment will follow in the Fortsonia Community Cemetery with Cecil Oakley, Jr., Dean Newsome, Jackson Hudson, Will Fortson, Charlie Fortson, Matt Hudson, Brantley Stanley, and David Slay honored as pallbearers.
