Troy William "TW" Burton

Mr. Troy William “TW” Burton, 83, of Anderson, SC, husband of 37 years to Barbara Goldsmith Burton, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Affectionately known as “T” to his family, he was born in Martin, GA on May 11, 1943, son of the late Troy Robert Burton and Lizzie Bea Fruster Burton. He was a retired welder and a Mason. An avid outdoorsman, TW took pride in working in his yard and keeping it in immaculate condition. He loved hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. In his younger years, he and Barbara enjoyed dancing.

Surviving, in addition to his wife Barbara, is his children: Tawanna Baker, Novellia Burton, Cassandra Grant, Ben Holland, Len Greenway, and Penni Freeman; siblings: Jo Evelyn Blackwell, Wonda Alexander, Gloria Burton, Harriett Starks, Tammy Harris, Nadene Burton, Gary Burton, and Robert Burton; bonus daughter, Cathy Risner; special grandchildren, who loved their “Papa T”: Melanie Evans and Jason Evans; and several additional grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Along with his parents, TW is preceded in death by his children: Gary Merriett, Carl Holland, and Gwen Fowler; and brothers, Kenneth Burton and Terry Burton.

Honoring his request, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
