Mrs. Vera Ann Johnson Ingram, 78, of Elberton, wife of 47 years to the late Billy Garnell Ingram, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Hart Care Center.
Mrs. Ingram was born in Elberton on June 16, 1947, daughter of the late Ralph Thomas Johnson and Janie Lee Davis Johnson. She was a homemaker and also a seamstress having worked at Elberton Manufacturing Company. Vera enjoyed making arts and crafts, and is most remembered for making angels with homemade clothing. Above all, “Grandmama” loved her family dearly.
Surviving are her sons and their wives: Keith and Crystal Ingram of Elberton and Dale and Amy Ingram of Hartwell; siblings: Alvin Johnson and Faye Yearwood, both of Elberton; grandchildren and their spouses: Britley and Jonathan Bridges, Blake and Niki Ingram, Rebecca and Jesse Lopez, Eric Ingram, Deborah Ingram, Cadence Ingram, and Emalynn Fisher; great-grandchildren: Augie Ingram and Lily Bridges; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her great-grandchildren: Theo Lopez and Charlotte Bridges; and siblings: Helen Johnson, Betty Ivester, Frances Davis, Tommy Johnson, and Cecil Johnson.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 7, from 2:00-2:45p.m. at Northside Baptist Church. Memorial services will follow at 3:00p.m. in the church, officiated by Pastor Dan Fernandez and the Rev. David McConnell. Burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.
Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made to the family to help defray expenses.
