Vera Dale Mellott

Mrs. Vera Dale Mellott, of Royston died November 19, 2008. Loving mother and grandmother, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Shaffer and Ethel Hutzell.She was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Mr. John Edward Mellott. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia (James) Thatcher of Royston; grandchildren, Tina Pullian of Dewy Rose, Tammy Bennet of Toccoa, Teresa Weaver of Commerce, Tracy Harris of Hartwell; great grandchildren, Tony and Tonya Pullian of Dewy Rose, Joshua and Amanda Bennett of Toccoa, Kendra, Kristin, and Nicholas Crawford of Commerce, Erica Rice and Kelsey Harris of Hartwell; brother, Raymond (Nancy) Shaffer of New Providence, PA and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 22 in the Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m., Minister Janice Loggins officiating, with burial to follow at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21. Hicks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Vera Dale Mellott.
