William Howard Blum

Mr. William Howard Blum, 86, of Ernest Brown Road, Elberton, husband of the late Geneva Owen Blum, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Blum was born in Laurens County, South Carolina, on June 9, 1928, to the late Waddie T. and Maggie Sims Blum. He was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and retired from Greenwood Mills. After retirement, Mr. & Mrs. Blum thoroughly enjoyed their time together farming. Left to cherish his memories are his children: Susan B. Prince of Laurens, SC, Brenda Worley of Elberton, Dewey McNair of Elberton, Barbara King of Carlton, and Frances Rousey of Bowman; sisters: Mary Anne Edwards of McCormick, SC and Martha Talbert of Greenwood, SC; twenty grandchildren; thirty six great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his son, William R. Blum; and siblings: Dorothy Brown, Jean Stone, Carolyn Young, Bettye Gunter, and Waddie Blum, Jr. Graveside funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, September 11, at 11:00a.m. in the Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Sharon Coley officiating. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
