William Thomas Smith, III

Mr. William Thomas "Tommy" Smith, III, 77, of Elberton, GA passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023.

Tommy was born October 27, 1946 in Elberton, GA to William Thomas Smith, Jr, and Gertrude Dobson Smith. He was a retired truck driver and attended Woodlawn Global Methodist Church.

He is survived by his sisters and brother-in-law: Joan Roberts of Starr, SC, Jean and Carey Freeman of Starr, SC; special nephew: Kent and Susan Vaughter, and nieces: Darlene and Dubose Medlock and Melanie Hudders.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Willie Mae Scantlin Smith, nephew: Jeff Vaughter, paternal grandparents: Willie and Annie Lou Smith and maternal grandparents: James P. and Dovie Sue Childs Dobson.

Memorial services to celebrate Tommy's life will be held 2PM, Saturday, January 6, 2024 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. John Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 1PM to 2PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.

Flowers are optional and memorials can be made in his memory to Woodlawn Global Methodist Church.

Berry Funeral Home and Crematory of Elberton is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mr. William Thomas "Tommy" Smith, III.
